We welcome many groups each week to our Club through our rental program. On Curling Day in Canada, Feb. 24, scouts and venturers from the 28th Kitsilano Scout Group joined us for a fun afternoon. Most of the participants had never been on the ice before. We thank all of our coaches for their experitise and care to make sure new curlers have a great experience.
Are you looking for something to do after the curling season ends? You might want to consider lawn bowling! Dunbar Lawn Bowling Club is offering three lessons in late April for $30. If you decide to become a member this $30 is deducted from the “new members” fee of $125, already a reduced fee from the usual $250. There are many curlers already lawn bowling, so we encourage you to come try it out. Equipment is provided.

The Marpole CC was closed to curling on Thursday, Feb. 15 so that our ice technicians could flood the ice and do some maintenance scraping. The goal is to continue on with the improved playing conditions we've seen this year. Head ice technician Norm Scott feels the deterioration in ice conditions that took place towards the end of last season won't happen again this season.

Our facility was built in 1959 and still holds the same inviting atmosphere that it did back then. With six sheets of ice, a cafe, bar/lounge, games room and meeting room, we are able to accommodate events of all kinds. We are continuing to work on our club to ensure it is up-to-date, while still respecting its history and character.
