join us for our 2SLGBTQIA+
Saturday Queer Curling and Social Brunch/Lunch
All levels of curler experience are welcome! Pre-registration strongly recommended (see below). limited walk-in spaces will be available, first come first served.
No equipment is needed but we ask that you bring a clean pair of flat-soled athletic shoes to put on at the club and remember it can be cold in the ice shed so warm layered clothing and gloves/hats are also good to bring. We offer "first time" training to anyone who needs it for your first session. This is mandatory if you have never curled before; don't worry, we'll make you a curler in no time.
Learn to Curl runs from 1:30 PM to approximately 3:30 PM. Please arrive early and be ready to curl by 1:20 PM.
Learn-to-Curl sessions are an excellent way to build a strong foundation in curling. You'll learn everything from gameplay and rules to sweeping, delivery, strategy, and much more.
With one coach per sheet, these sessions provide plenty of hands-on instruction and support to help you develop your skills and confidence on the ice. The course will prepare you to play in any of our recreational curling leagues and is recommended for anyone looking to move beyond drop-in curling.
You are more than welcome to participate in both Drop-In Curling and the Learn-to-Curl!
Please note: Marpole Curling Club membership and applicable Curl BC/Curling Canada association fees are required for these programs. Association fees are paid only once per person, per season.
Novice Leagues run from 1:30 PM to approximately 3:30 PM. Please arrive early and be ready to curl by 1:20 PM.
Novice League sessions offer a little more consistency and structure while still keeping the experience social and fun. You'll play regular games with a roaming coach available to answer questions, offer tips, and help you continue developing your skills and confidence on the ice.
You are more than welcome to participate in both Drop-In Curling and the Novice League!
Please note: Marpole Curling Club membership and applicable Curl BC/Curling Canada association fees are required for the Novice League. Association fees are paid only once per person, per season.
Queer Social Lunch/Brunch takes place between our two curling sessions in Marpole's retro 60s-style diner and comfortable upstairs lounge. Exact hours and menu options will be updated closer to the start of the season.
This is a great opportunity to build our community, meet new people, and catch up with old friends! Curling in Session 2? Come early and join us before your game. Curling in Session 1? Stick around afterward and keep the fun going.
Don't want to curl? No worries! Everyone is welcome to join us for lunch/brunch and social time. The upstairs lounge offers a great view of the ice, along with a games area featuring pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, darts, and more.
Come cheer on the curlers, play some games, grab a bite, and enjoy the social side of Queer Curling!
Come alone or bring friends. Allies are welcome!
Curling and our club are accessible. If you have an accessibility need, talk to us and we will do our best to accommodate you and help get you on the ice.
