Driftwood Sportsman Bonspiel Crowns a New ‘A’ Event Champion!
After 9 Ends, Team Kavanagh Captures a win Against Team Forrest
Thanks to all the teams for joining in our annual Driftwood Sportsman Bonspiel. The final games were all very close, and it took an extra end for Michael Kavanagh to clinch the win against the former Men’s Bonspiel Champion, Andrew Forrest.
There was certainly a packed weekend of fun, fabulous food, entertainment, and of course some exciting curling! We were also especially proud to have a special presentation Saturday night to our three members who have curled here for 60 years – Ron Peterson, Jim Bennett and Bill McNeil. And what great curlers they still are, with a close head to head match up along with their skip Ron Stedman against Team Forrest in their first game, and an overall strong finish in the B Semi Finals. Well done men!
